In the late 70's, God prompted Pat Robertson to help the underpriviledged. So, in 1978, Operation Blessing International Relief and Development Corporation was founded to manifest Christ's love through helping the needy people.

Pat Robertson was given a specific verse from God. Here is what he says, "The Lord led me to me Isaiah 58: "Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house?...". I wrote down what I was supposed to do: "Feed and dress people, give refuge to them and stop slandering people. On the other hand, God said to me, "This is what I am going to do for you: I am going to bless you. I am going to give you prosperity. Every bad day in your life will be sunny and bright one for all other people. I'll go ahead of you. Glory of the Lord will protect you from the back and your descendants will rebuid the ancient deserted places and will be called renovators". And I said, "This is great!".

"So, I came to our studio and said, Guys, we are going to found a new organization and we will name it "Operation Blessing". Then I announced in one of our programs, "If you have anything you would like to donate, just call us. If you need anything, call us and we will try to join you with those you could help you". So, this is how it all started."

Since then, we have distributed food, clothing and medicines in the amount of over a million dollars. We have helped over 100 million people all over the world and every month we distribute 8 - 9 million pounds of foodstuffs throughout the States and Appalachians mainly inhabited by the poor people.
